Ahead of assembly polls early next year, Punjab cabinet on Saturday approved a hike in allowances of several categories of its employees. The kanugo (revenue official) would now get Rs.3,600 instead of Rs.3000. The school teachers had been given the pay scale of 10300-34800+5400 Grade Pay (GP) at par with the school headmasters, an official spokesman said in a release on Saturday. Pharmacists have been placed in the higher pay band of Rs.10300-34800+3600 against 5910-20200-3000 and likewise the pay grade of Grade I and Grade II pharmacist would be now Rs.4800 and Rs.4200 respectively, he said. Homeopathic and Ayurvedic doctors in the pay of 10300-34800 would now get higher grade pay of Rs.5400 and Vaids and homeopathic dispensers would now get a pay scale of 5910-20200 with grade pay of 3000, he said. All Sikhya Karmis working in the education department would now get an additional benefit of Rs.1,000 per month. The Secretariat Allowance admissible to Senior Assistants, Senior Scale Stenographers, Personal Assistants, Superintendent working in Punjab Civil Secretariat had been enhanced by Rs.120, 200 and 300 per month and would now get secretariat allowance of Rs.600, 800 and 1500 per month from 1st December 2011, he said. Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary and Secretary/Minister and Special Secretary/Minister and Senior Special Secretary, Minister of Punjab Civil Secretariat would now get special allowance of Rs.1500 per month, he said. The cabinet also decided to allow benefit of full pension to its employees with the qualifying service of 25 years. The decision would be effective from 1st December 2011. The cabinet also gave in-principle approval to bring parity between the pay scales of Excise & Taxation and Food & Civil Supplies Department, spokesman said. Share and Care |
