Some Useful Information about Postal Service in World



The earliest form of postcode was   introduced in London in 1857 by Sir Rowland Hill, the inventor of the penny   post.
The Post Office was reorganized in   1660 and Henry Bishop was made Postmaster General in the world
In 1688 the first post office of the   Company Post was established at Bombay/Madras.
Mr. H P A B Riddle was appointed the   first Director General of Posts in May 1854 in India

First postal stamp for issued in   Karachi in 1852 and first postal department came into existence in 1854.
K Padmakshy Amma is the first post   woman in India. She joined the Trivandrum Postal Division on February 19,   1959.
