SpeedNet_3.1.2(15122011) Patch-3 dated 26/04/2012 : THIS PATCH IS A MUST TO BE EXECUTED AT ALL OFFICES using BNPL and Collection Agent Module. (To update the Base Value of Speed post tariff for One India - One Rate Scheme in BNPL and CA Module) NOTE: There is already provision in the SpeedNet Module for revising the latest Rate of the Service Tax under the Supervisor Login: BNPL--> BNPL Configuration --> Miscellaneous Charges --> Service Tax option. All offices have to add the entry for new Service Tax rate of 12% effective from 01.04.2012. This patch is released to provide the following: 1. Due to the increase in Service Tax Rate - the Base value of Speed post tariff for One India - One Rate Scheme in BNPL is revised as follows. Old Base Value New Base Value Local 10.88 10.67 One India rate 22.67 22.24 2. Enhancement of Customer Agreement period from one year to two year as per BD & M Dte, N Delhi lr.no. 57-02/2010-BD&MD dated 13.04.2012. 3. Please read the specific instructions detailed at Step III below for changes in the Collection Agent Module. Other than BNPL Provision: Provision is made to close FLAT RATE BOX in EPP Bags with specific Barcode prefix of "CF" for such bag. (As per the FRB Operational Manual, separate EPP bags containing FRBs have to be closed with CF barcode only) Flexibility is provided to close EPP Bag containing FRBs with X series/CF series barcode until it is confirmed that all Circles have procured CF barcodes for EPP Bags containing FRBs. SpeedNet3.1.2_15122011_ClientPatch_26042012 Pre-Requisite: Speednet 3.1.2 should have been upgraded with the latest rlease of SpeedNet on 15/12/2011 ( ftp://ftp.ptcinfo.org/SpeedNet/speednet3.1.2_15122011/) Those who are using speednet3.1.2_15122011 but not used the Patch2, can directly upgrade with Patch3 I: Upgrade the DB first with DBscript file. 1. Take Full Backup of POSPCC DB 2. Execute the DB Script through Script Tool.exe. 3. On Successful upgradation of DB, go to Step II. II. Now copy the Dlls, SNT and EXE: 1. Copy all the Dlls , SNT and the Exe file from the folder and copy the same into C:\Program Files\SpeedNet folder ( default installation folder) NOTE: There is also CollectionAgent.exe for which read step III. 2. Register all the Dlls. 3. Execute the BNPLDataCorrection.exe file which is already there in SpeedNet folder. Now you may please run speedNet and confirm successful login. III. For Offices having Collection Agents: 1. After doing the upgradation for Patch-3, generate Configuration File for each Collection Agent and send it to CA for updation in his/her system. 2. Along with the Configuration file, send the latest CollectionAgent.exe file included in the Patch-3 release and ask the CAs to overwrite the CollectionAgent.exe file in their systems (default path: C:\Program Files\Speednet Collection Agent\). SpeedNet 3.1.2 (15122011) Patch-1 dated 28/03/2012

THIS PATCH IS A MUST TO BE EXECUTED AT ALL OFFICES WHO DO THE BNPL BILLING THROUGH SPEEDNET. This patch is released to provide the foloiwng solutions. 1. This patch will fix the bug in BNPL Billing. If this patch is not applied then there will be difference in the actual bill amount to that of the Bill Amount generated in the SpeedNet from April 2012 Bill onwards. 2. Invalid Use of Null error in Receipts/Close TB/Dispatch Bags option Fixed with a Message To fix the problem locally. 3. Error - "Data Not Saved" while Opening UID Bag is fixed 4. My Office Details - Pin Code View has been corrected for Offices whose Pin Codes are changed. 5. SpeedNet Manifest offline printing problem solved. 6. SpeedNet Problems and Solutions

Trouble Shooting in SpeedNet package: The questions /problems in this FAQ is arranged in the order of : · Installation · Configuration · Login · Supervisory options · Operator options · MIS (You may also use Find option (Ctrl+F) with error description to easily locate the solution in this post) Problem Solution Installation While installing error- “Insert Disk” There is an old speednet CAB file present in OS installation folder. Please search for sp*.cab file in C:\Windows or C:\Winnt folder. If found delete them. Then install the package afresh While installing system is asked to be restarted every time. Check whether Service Pack SP 4 for Windows 2000 or SP3 for XP systems are installed. While installing – error MSDART.dll file If the following error occurs during the Client installation – “The Procedure entry point couldn’t be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL.” When the error occurs – Click on OK. Then next it will show a file registration error – Click on Ignore. Then again the MSDART.DLL error occurs . Click on OK Then next it will show another file registration error – Click on Ignore Now it will install. Now package gets installed. This error will not cause any problem in the package. Note: If any Version Conflict messages appears, then keep the existing files in the system and continue the installation. At the end of the installation error – “Path not Found” Click on Retry button to continue. If this doesn’t solve the problem, reinstall the client component. Active X Component Error – Found at any stage during installation. Check whether Service Pack SP 4 for Windows 2000 or SP3 for XP systems are installed. Also install MDAC 2.7 If using Speednet 3.1 then download the 3.1.1 version from site. Installation problem in Vista System for the first time Right click on the setup.exe file and select option. This will install the package without any problem. Also register all the dll files which are in the SpeedNet Client Installation folder. To register the dll: · Right click on Dll file and select Open with · Select Browse option and go to Windows\System 32 folder. Select Regsvr32 file · Select open and ok button in the subsequent forms. · This will show the successful registration message. · If this process is not registering the Dll then :- please uninstall the SpeedNet client and ensure that old installation files doesn’t exist in the system. Then go to start->Run and type msconfig. A System Tools window opens. Click on Tools option. Search for option from the list. Select it and click on Launch. Restart the system then install the SpeedNet client and then register the Dlls. At the end don’t forget to go to msconfig ->Tools and select and launch and restart system. Note: Enable User Account Control is a must as it is a new security component in Windows Vista. Configuration – Database Creation While creating the database, message appears as – “Unable to load the configuration file” Uninstall the SpeedNet Client component from Control Panel –Add Remove Programs and reinstall it. While creating the database, “Speed Net found an illegal tampering of information... Quitting” Uninstall the SpeedNet Client component from Control Panel –Add Remove Programs and reinstall it. While creating database error – “SQL Server error. Please close all applications” This is the error related to Hard disk. Check the following. · Drive letter provided is wrong · POSPCC and POSPCCBackup files exist in hard disk · No space in the hard disk. While creating the database error – “Specified SQL Server not found” The Server name provided is wrong. Please also check whether you have installed SQL as Instance. If so, edit the SQL Server name with SQL   Instance name. While creating the database error “Login failed for user SA” The SQL Password typed is wrong. In vista – shared file is not being accessed at the end of client installation. In cases where new systems are supplied to project arrow offices, some problems in accessing server component folder even after sharing this folder may occur due to architecture of new OS installed in these systems. IN such case system administrator should overwrite defaults permissions given to SpeedNet server folder : To do this they can follow the procedure below: If it is vista operating system do the following steps before configuring the permissions: 1. Go to Start->Run and type msconfig 2. Under Tools, select Disable UAC and click on Launch button given below. 3. Restart the system. 4. Applying the permission changes to SpeedNet server folder as given below. Permissions: 7) Right click SpeedNet Server folder, select Properties ->Security tab and click on button therein. 2) Select the user if already present in the list there or Click on Edit and then button. Type everyone and click on OK. 3) In the next screen, check on permission for Allow. 4) Click on advanced 5) Uncheck the check box . A new option screen appears wherein click on remove button 6) Now click on OK button and Ok button in the previous screen. 7) Share the SpeedNet server folder and assign full permission to user on shared folder. Give similar permissions to user as above. Configuration – Other Issues While configuring, the required SPC name is not found for selection. Then how to install? The procedure is explained in the SpeedNet Hand Book supplied along with 3.1 version release and the copy of the same is available in Speednet 3.1 CD. (Refer 2.8) Error Inserting Offices to OfficeMaster –Could not bulk insert. File ‘SPCMaster.txt’ does not exist This problem is solved in Speednet 3.1.1. You are using older version. Please download the 3.1.1 version and upgrade. While configuring at linked office, Linked office name not found for selection. How to install? The procedure is explained in the SpeedNet Hand Book supplied along with 3.1 version release and the copy of the same is available in Speednet 3.1 CD. (Refer 2.9) “Automation Error” at the time of configuration Solution 1: Dll Registry problem. Please open the Speednet client folder path (C:\Program Files\Speednet default folder) . Register all the dll files using the regsvr32 file. Procedure to register: 1. Right click on The dll file 2. Click on – Open with option 3. Browse – C:\Windows\System32 4. Select the file regsvr32.dll 5. Click on Ok to register. If it is Vista System and there is problem in registration of Dll files, please see the solution given at the heading – as to how to register the dll files in vista. While configuring Error - "Text property read only" This is the problem with old cab file remaining in the system during fresh installation of SpeedNet 3.1.1 Uninstall Speednet client from Add Remove programs Search for C:\Program Files\Speednet folder ( Its default path of client folder) . If exists delete it. Now go to search option ( or Find) of windows and search for spcl*.cab file in C:\Windows folder. If any such file exists delete it. Then install the Speednet Client 3.1.1 afresh. Login While starting the package itself, there is error “Error in Opening the Connection 70. Permission denied” This problem would have occurred in Vista systems. As a solution, right click on the SpeedNet exe and click on Run As Administrator option and click on Allow to run the package. While logging in it says the user is already logged in other system. This problem is solved in Speednet 3.1.1. You are using older version. Please download the 3.1.1 version and upgrade. Error while logging in – “Not a valid Password” This is mdb file access error through the client system. Check the sharing permissions of the SpednetServer folder at server system. Whether the XP client user has been given full permission to access the folder. If by giving permission if the problem is not solved, then reinstall the SpeedNet Server component and share it afresh with full permission to   (BNPL Module – old bill data will be lost with the re installation of SpeedNet Server) Error while login – “BNPL Database is not found in the specified path” This problem is solved in Speednet 3.1.1. You are using older version. Please download the 3.1.1 version and upgrade. Login is very slow and takes too much time. Login as Supervisor – Use Tools->Delete Old data option. Use Truncate option to truncate the log files of POSPCC and POSPCCBackup. (Please ensure that no one uses SpeedNet at that time, else DB will be corrupt) While Logging in Vista Systems, when selected user, given password and click on OK, package simply exists without any message or error Right Click on the Speednet.exe which is in the SpeedNet client path (default client path is C:\Program Files\SpeedNet) and click on . If this is not working then please share the SpeedNet Server folder in the Server System with Special Permission as given in the instruction at the heading Shift Begin /Shift End While making Shift End error – it gives  BNPL Error / Pending Message error This problem is solved in Speednet 3.1.1. You are using older version. Please download the 3.1.1 version and upgrade. While making the Shift Begin – it shows the error that system date and time is incorrect. Please check whether the System date is Current Date. From SpeedNet 3.1 onwards , package will not allow to make the Shift Begin for a date for which already Shift Begin and Shift End are done. While making shift End – it shows a big list of non dispatched bags. This is not an error. Please read the SpeedNet User Manual or for details on Non Dispatched Bag List. While making the Shift End – Package exists automatically Please read the SpeedNet User Manual for details on Shift End for Non Dispatched Bag List. If the list contains huge number of pending bags due to incomplete work in the package, then this happens. Reinstallation is the solution.

Based on the latest Sorting Extract / Orders received from the Directorate and IC Hub Data received from Circles, the Revised MNOP Script is released and the details of the releases are as follows. This script will contain the entire Hub Master data as per the requirement /modifications - including all the previous revisions. This document shows only the latest revisions. Steps to Update: Take Full Backup of POSPCC DB Execute the EXL file through ScriptTool.exe. Login to Speednet and check View-> Hub Details option . Note: SpeedNet: Script is compulsorily to be updated in concerened Hub or IC Hub as well as in all offices using SpeedNet whose Pin Code is covered under Pin Range Modification / Hub – Addition/Deletion. Speed Net Team, Centre For Excellence In Postal Technology, PTC, Mysore is releasing an Revision Update to Speed Net Ver 3.1.2 Version with Revision Date as on 30/08/2011.

1. SpeedNet Set-Up for P2P Offices to use it along with UID Booking Module.

2. Two important solutions given as below.

A. Change in the BNPL Booking Message for Excel File Upload and Range Scan - Change in the internal process in the software. This is to fix the problem of Excel File Article Message Data getting mixed up with Range Scan Articles Message Data -when the two types of booking are executed at the same point of time from two different systems. There is possibility of missing Pin Codes due to this mixing of message data which is avoided through this updation.

B. Solution for Shift End error in SpeedNet where it is configured with No Sets.

3. MNOP latest changes to 3 Circles AP ( Rajhamandry New IC hub) / UP ( Varanasi/Allahabad Pin Range Modification) / Punjab (Chandigarh and Patiala

Pin Range Modification). Supervisor has to use the option Master-> Hub Details and Update option to get the latest data. Latest data can be viewed thereafter.

4. Collection of counter Booked Flat Rate Box in SpeedNet with Specific Article Types. Domestic FRB as EPP / Domestic Ins FRB as Ins EPP and Foreign FRB as FRGN (Merchandise). SpeedNet will allow the prefix CF for Domestic FRBs and CP for Foreign FRBs for those types of Articles only.

5. Remarks From Other Office :- Date of Delivery can be any date between the Date of Invoice to the Current Date.

6. Discrepency Report Solution.

Other important issues provided through 23/07/2011 remains same with an additional Read me file on U series Article handling under SpeedNet Documents folder:

23/07/2011 was for providing:

i) Provisions for Prepaid/Advance Customers with Booking/Billing/Reports options.

ii) Enhanced features for Collection Agents including Billing w.r.t. acceptance of articles from Prepaid/Advance/BNPL Customers.

iii) Newly Installed and configured SpeedNet not to have BOs in Office Master - In compliance with the requirement of adding all of BOs of Pin Code Directory into SPC Site Office master data, latest BO data is available at SPC Site.

For more details, please see the New installation Notes as to how to update the latest BO data into local database.

iv) Weight Limit for Foreign EMS Articles as per Dte Lr No. 22-1/2011-DA dated 22/06/2011 is provided.

v) EPP Related : -

EPP Booking for BNPL Articles with Circle allotted Barcode prefix validation, EPP Distance Configuration for Cities, closing separate EPP Bag with EPP Articles was already provided vide release dated 20/05/2011. Delivery of EPP Articles was already available in the SpeedNet earlier version and the same is continued.

In this release we have provided – Circle Wise EPP Bag Barcode Series validation as per Dte Lr. No 10-20/2008 BD&MD dated 06/06/2011.

vi) Article/ Bag Barcode validation for Print To Post Centers who book and bag UID Articles with U series Barcodes as per Dte Lr. No. 51-53/2010-BD&MD dated 14/07/2011. Separate BO Bag Provision is made to Close BO UID Bags.

UID Booking should be done through Excel File Upload with Reference No. column filled with UID Article Reference No.

vii) Handling of U Series Barcoded UID Articles at Delivery Offices: Offices other than Print To Post Centers can receive the Bags from Print to Post Centers and receive the articles, issue to post man for delivery or send for other offices for delivery with U series Barcodes.

viii) BO Bag Close with UID Bundles/Articles at Delivery Office.

When Print to Post Centers close Bags with Bundles of UID Articles to Delivery offices, there may be also Bundles for BOs of those Delivery Offices.

As those UID Bundles shouldn’t be opened at Delivery Office – BO Bag Close with UID Bundles/ Articles if any sent loose, is provided.

ix) MNOP Hub Master Data : Latest revisions to the Hub Master are available in this release. Supervisor has to use the option Master-> Hub Details and Update option to get the latest data. Latest data can be viewed thereafter.

Collection Agent Module:

Collection Agents using the earlier have to be provided with new Collection Agent Module provided in this folder with 18082011 date. Current SpeedNet will work only with the Collection Agent Module 18082011 - reinstalled in the Agent system.

A Summary of all New Provisions of Speednet 3.1.2 Revised version is given at the later part of this document. Please refer for more details.

Please note that – this version can also be used by all offices using SpeedNet 3.1.2 - which have not used subsequent updates of SpeedNet 3.1.2 kept in FTP site earlier to this release. However, in such offices the DB Upgradation has to be firstly done with Database Workshop Site program using the sql files available in database Upgrades folder and then use the EXL files for upgradation through ScriptTool.exe.
