Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises Employment Opportunities in PSUs The employment opportunities in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), during the last three years, based on the Public Enterprises Survey (2009-10) that was laid in the Parliament on 24 February, 2011 is given below: (In numbers) Years Employees 2007-08 1565629 2008-09 1533531 2009-10 1490699 The table above provides the information on the permanent employees (excluding the contract works). The reasons for decline in the number of permanent employees, during the last three years have been superannuation and Voluntary Retirement Scheme(VRS) in CPSEs. This information was given by the Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Praful Patel in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
