New Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh's bail petition in the cash-for-votes scam will be heard on September 15. The Tees Hazari Court of Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal on Tuesday asked the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to submit a full report on Amar Singh's health by September 14 after his lawyer claimed that Tihar Jail officials had sent a misleading report.
"Most newspaper reports suggest his creatinine levels are high. His own doctor has said that his condition is life threatening. The court should ask Tihar authorities to inform the court about his medical condition immediately," Singh's lawyer told Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal in the Tees Hazari Court.
Singh was admitted to the AIIMS on Monday night following a rise in creatinine level in his body.
He is a diabetic and also claims to be suffering from a urinary tract infection, these are also the grounds on which he is seeking bail and the matter comes up for hearing later on Tuesday.
The former Samajwadi Party general secretary has been in Tihar Jail since his arrest on September 6 in connection with the 2008 cash-for-vote scam.
