Identification of Pensioners Associations under the Pensioners’ Portal- A Mission Mode Project under NeGP.
A Mission Mode Project Pensioners’ Portal under NeGP entrusted to Department of P&PW aims at the welfare of Central Civil Pensioners across the country. Its specific objective is to facilitate redressal of Pensioners grievances and provide detailed information, guidance etc. on pension and other retirement related matters through various stake holders. The project envisages inter-alia association of registered Pensioners Associations of Central Government Employees and other welfare organizations in the implementation process. The Pensioners Associations so identified are also expected to assist the department in implementation of its project “SANKALP” which is a recent innovative initiative of the department launched to channelize the skills and resources of pensioners towards constructive work in the society. The Pensioners Associations already involved in social activities will thus be preferred in the matter of their identification under the Portal.

These Associations are given one time hardware/software and annual Grant-in-Aid up to Rs.75,000/- per annum to participate in the implementation of the scheme to defray expenses on certain approved components such as telephone/internet connection, stationary etc.
The Department has already on its role 43 Pensioner Associations. A list of these identified Pensioners Associations and the Cities/States where they are located is available on this Department Website at http://pensionersportal.gov.in
To broad base the efforts towards meeting the objectives of Pensioner Portal, this Department now intends to identify more Pensioners Associations in 2014-15 from various Cities/States. Preference will however be given to Central Government Pensioners Associations from the unrepresented Cities/StatesIUTs, which are Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim , Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Havelli and Lakshdweep, looking after the welfare of Central Government pensioners.
