Com S.K Vyas President Confederation of Central Govt Employees & Workers New Delhi was on a visit to Bangalore on 7th February 2013. His visit was to mobilize the CG Employees to participate in large number in the General Strike of workers on 20 & 21 February 2013. All the Central Trade Unions including INTUC & BMS have called upon the workers to observe All India General Strike for two days on 20 & 21 February on a 10 point charter. All most employees organizations like Banks, Insurance sector, PSUs, State Govts have endorsed the call. The Confederation has also called upon all its affiliates to join the strike. Confederation has included 8 demands in its charter in addition to 10 demands of trade unions.
Meeting at AG’s Office: Com Vyas programme commenced with a meeting of workers in AG’s Office at 11 AM. In this meeting Com Vyas in addition to Confederation demands touched upon certain issues which were of relevance audit and accounts employees.
RALLY DURING LUNCH HOUR: Joint Rally of Central and State Government Employees was held in the premsis of Income Tax office. which was attended by leaders of NFPE(AIPEU,RMS,Postal Accounts), FNPO, ITEF, Ground Water, Civil Accounts, Survey of India ,AG'S, CGHS, State Goverment( Okkuta) etc Com Satyanarayana General Secretary All India Postal Accounts Employees Association, Com Matapathi President State Government Employees Federation (Okkutta) addressed the rally. Com Vyas explained the genesis of each demand and the need for constituting 7th CPC. He called upon the members to make strike of 20 & 21 February big success. It was deceided that Central and State Goverment Employees will jointly participate in strike of 20 & 21 February.
Confederation Meeting: In the evening meeting of confederation and Joint Action Council of Postal Employees was held in city RMS office. which was attended by leaders of NFPE(AIPEU,RMS,Postal Accounts), FNPO, ITEF, Ground Water, Civil Accounts, Survey of India, CGHS, NREU, ALRSA, etc The meeting was presided over by Com S.Radhakrishna Working President of the State unit of confederation. Com R.Srinivas Circle Secretary of RMS unit welcomed the gathering.
Com Satynarayana General Secretary AIPAEA addressed the meeting.The members wanted clarification regarding the need of another strike in February when already we have observed strike in 12-12-2012 on the same demands. Further they wanted to know why February was chosen for strike. Com Vyas in his speech explained the importance of charter. He further explained that Confederation decided in April 2012 for strike in December 2012, JCTU had not decided for any strike. Decision of JCTU for strike in February came only in August 2012. When a review meeting of confederation executive was held all affiliates felt that strike of december has to be observed and also join general strike as focus of our demands through our own strike is an urgent necessity. Choosing dates for strike in February was decision of JCTU and we are endorsing the same. He also said as result of our action in december AIRF in its conference held in Vishakapatnam has adopted the demand of constitution of 7th CPC in its charter and is going for indefinite strike ballot on this demand. He appealed to the Confederation leadership of State unit to make all efforts for the success of strike.
