PF employees’ unions seek hike in medical allowance On a call given by the All India Employees' Provident Fund Staff Federation for settlement of their demands, all affiliated unions, including those in Punjab, started an agitation in front of their regional offices, sub-regional offices as well as headquarters in New Delhi on Monday. The demands include enhancement of fixed medical allowance to Rs 3,500. The federation has demanded implementation of the anomaly committee report constituted for employees of the organisation after the 6th Pay Commission. Payment of the 6th Pay Commission arrears from January 1, 2006 instead of 2007 is among the other demands. They have also demanded reduction of qualifying service for promotion, review of productivity-linked bonus scheme and removal of four-year condition to Social Security Assistants for getting time scale of Rs 2,800 and promotion order under 60 per cent quota.
