Central Government Gazetted Officers’ Organizations demands SEVENTH CENTRAL PAY COMMISSION.(7th CPC)
Gazetted officers put forth their demands The first convention of Confederation of Central Government Gazetted Officers’ Organizations, Tamil Nadu Region, passed a number of resolutions, including ‘Revision of wages of Central Government Employees with effect from January 1, 2011 by setting up the Seventh Central Pay Commission and every five years thereafter. The meeting which was held at Sir Pitty Thiyagaraya Hall, T. Nagar, urged the Centre consider the merger of Dearness Allowance with Pay for all purposes including pension with effect from January 1. The other demands, creation of a separate Joint Consultative Machinery for Gazetted Officers of Central Government Departments; at least three promotions after induction into the Gazetted Officer’s Cadre; and bonus for all Gazetted Officers. Representatives of the Gazetted Officers from all over Tamil Nadu participated in the convention. Member of Parliament S.S. Rama Subbu inaugurated the convention and delivered the inaugural address. Member of Parliament and Member, Standing Committee on Ministry of Defence, T.K. Rangarajan, who attended the convention as distinguished guest, delivered the felicitation speech. S. Mohan, Convener of the confederation delivered the welcome address and presented a declaration. S. Chandrasekar, All India Central Excise Gazetted Officers’ Association and I. B. Mishra, Secretary General, All India Customs Preventive Service Federation, addressed the gathering and stressed on the need for unity among the Group B Officers and called upon the government to pay attention to their genuine grievances.
