Are you looking for a cell phone with killer features? Have you ever come across a person who said that his mobile phone has satisfied all his needs? i bet you wouldn't because no phone is designed in such a way that it satisfies all the needs of the person because a perfect phone would not only ruins its rivals business but also kills all other models of its own company so i guess companies deliberately leaves some flaws, missing features and other things such that balance is always maintained in mobile ecosystem... And this balance is really needed in mobile world for the survival of any company ;)
Recently i started to feel my mobile is obsolete and started hunting for the new device with top features so that it will serve me for another 3 to 4 years and my budget to spend on phone was also pretty good some where between 200 to 500$, though at the beginning i thought i would get a phone with features that satisfies me in this price range but to my surprise i found out it is difficult to choose a mobile which suits ones need.... but below are some of the important and basic features to look for before buying a mobile phone.
Mobile Build and Appearance:
this is the important aspect before buying any mobile even if the mobile is feaure rich but the mobile is the size of your school geometry box than its of no use always go for a slim and light weight mobiles again its the matter of perception some people like big looking phones ;)
Battery:
This is the top and second most important thing in mobile phone, i know loads of people who buys nokia phones just because it has awesome battery life now a days almost all companies offer ultimate battery, always look for the cell phone which as talk time 2G = >9+ hrs 3G = >5+hrs , standby >20+ days, audio playback of 30+ hrs, i dumped my old cell phone sony ericsson because it had a talktime of abt 4.5 hrs which is pretty less and required recharging every one or two days even after minimal usage.
Mobile Screen:
Always buy a mobile which is sunlight readable that is images/text on mobile Screen should be visible even under broad daylight or sunlight buy a phone with clear LCD or AMOLED, most of the phones out there are not sunlight readable so please check this important point before buying a cell phone.
Camera:
Most of the phones now a days have camera even the low end mobiles are equipped with VGA Camera, if you are a blogger or a person who wants to use the pictures taken to print from your mobile for some purpose then always go for a mobile with minimum 3.2MP camera (though it is not always true because some time 2.0 MP camera mobiles perform better than 3MP camera mobiles) and which has flash Xenon or LED.. and always check for FPS for video recording anything more than 25FPS is very good.
Sound Quality:
If you listen music more on your cellphone then you should consider to buy mobiles built for music such as sony ericsson Walkman phones because not all mobile phones play music great, because i had a high priced PDA where the sound quality was average...
Connectivity and Navgation:
Gone were the days when people were using cell phones just for calling and playing video games, now a days most of the people use internet and other facilities in their phone so please buy a phone which has atleast 3G, USB, Bluetooth and GPS.
Messaging and Email:
If you are a person who use email or send SMS the go for a phone with qwety keypad avoid touch screen and also check whether your phone has MS exchange or push email client.
Phone memory and Performance:
Phone fully loaded with feature alone doesn't help it should have a good operating system, Phone memory(RAM), and Processor phone with more memory and more MHZ your mobile always perform better, many mid range phones have loads of applications and features stuffed in but lacks Fair amount of RAM and good Processors that's the reason it hangs and automatically device recycle(Restarts) often.
Basic R&D before buying a device:
Always read reviews and user opinion online about how the reception and phone clarity of the device is and also if your buying a mobile with touch screen always ask the people who already used it on how the touch response though many stores do not have a demo PC some stores do have its better to try before buying a phone than spending huge amount uncertain whether it serves your purpose or not... guys if you like to add few more points suggestions are welcomed.
