Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions Officers Sent for Training ProgrammesA total of 1846 officers have been sent under the Domestic Funding of Foreign Training (DFFT) Scheme since 2000. Service-wise details are as under :- All India Services (IAS, IPS and IFoS) : 938 Other Group ‘A’ Services : 359 Central Secretariat Service : 215 State Civil Service Central Secretariat Stenographers Service : 26 Others Total The Domestic Funding of Foreign Training (DFFT) Scheme is a Plan scheme of the Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT). The DOPT is the Nodal Department for all officers of Group A services, including the Indian Police Service, only, when they are on Central Staffing Scheme deputation. The training needs of such officers outside their Central deputation tenure are taken care of by their respective cadre controlling authorities. The DFFT Scheme has been evaluated/reviewed twice in the last five years – once by the Centre for Good Governance in 2008 and later by a High-level Committee headed by Secretary (Personnel) in 2009-10. This was stated by Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and PMO Shri V. Narayanasamy in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today. PIB |
