Scholarships
under National Overseas Scholarship for SCs
Thirty
fresh scholarships are available annually under the Scheme of National Overseas
Scholarship for Scheduled Caste etc. candidates.
The
year-wise number of applicants who applied, within the stipulated last date for
receipt of application as per the advertisement, and the persons who were
selected, over the last three years is:
The selected students have to take
admission within three years of their selection.
The
scheme was partially revised in the year 2010-11. The scholarships are now
provided for pursuing Master level courses and Ph.D abroad in following
specified fields of study:- a) Engineering; b) Management; c) Pure Sciences;
d) Agricultural Science; and e) Medicine.
This information was given by the Minister of State for
Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri P. Balram Naik in
a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
